Owner & Technician — KlutchAZ / Klutch Autohaus
Andrew “Hutch” Hutchinson is the owner and technician behind KlutchAZ / Klutch Autohaus, a mobile auto diagnostics and select repair operation in Tucson, Arizona.
His path ran through aviation fabrication and CAD design, automotive repair, heavy equipment and the motorcycle industry, then into Volkswagen/Audi factory training, ASE credentials and specialty certifications. That work built dealership-level depth in electrical systems, network communication, drivability and heavy mechanical repair.
He works evidence-first: test the system, find the failure, verify the result, and only then talk about parts. The equipment comes to the vehicle — a mobile mechanic covering Tucson, Vail, Rita Ranch and the surrounding communities.
There is no service writer in between. The person who hears your concern is the person testing your vehicle and doing the work.

It started in grade school with heavy electrical and mechanical engineering concepts — how current moves, how loads transfer, why one design holds and another lets go.
That interest never narrowed. It expanded into aviation fabrication and CAD design, then automotive repair, heavy equipment and the motorcycle industry. Alongside it came advanced technical training, specialty certifications, ASE credentials and Volkswagen/Audi factory training — and with that, dealership-level experience in electrical systems, drivability diagnostics, network communication and heavy mechanical repair.
Working across the trades is where the practical ability came from. Real vehicles, real failures, real consequences — earned in the field rather than collected in a classroom.
The aviation work set the working style. You plan before you cut, measure to the number, route wiring so the next person can follow it, and treat small details as load-bearing, because on an airframe they are.
Measured in thousandths. Routed like an airframe.
That habit did not stay in the shop. It shows up in how a harness repair is laid in, how a conversion is planned and how a test is set up before a single part is ordered.
German vehicles are the lifelong obsession — exotics, performance builds and the dependable everyday cars friends and family put miles on. That is the straight line from grade school to a European mobile mechanic working out of Tucson.

Four things sit under every job. None of them is decoration.
Drawn before it’s cut. Measured precisely. Routed like an airframe.
Dealership-level experience in electrical systems, network communication, drivability, and heavy mechanical repair.
Practical skills earned in the field—not knowledge collected only inside a classroom.
B5, B6, C5, RS4, RS6, 2.7T, 01E, K04+ turbo builds, engine conversions, transmission conversions, and the everyday German vehicles people depend on.

KlutchAZ exists where three things line up. Take any one of them away and it stops working.
Helping people when they actually need it. A vehicle that will not run is rarely just a vehicle. It is a shift missed, a paycheck delayed, a kid who still has to get to school. Getting someone back on the road gets them back to work, back to earning and back to taking care of the people counting on them.
Doing the work at a high level. Solving difficult problems and building badass machines — diagnostics that take real testing, builds that take real planning. That is the part Hutch would be doing anyway.
Running a profitable business. This one is not an afterthought. It is what keeps the tooling current, the training paid for and the service running, so the first two can keep happening.
So: premium mobile auto diagnostics in Tucson, priced to stay in business. Not the cheapest option, and not pretending to be. What the price buys is an experienced technician, evidence behind the answer, and a day you do not lose.

The person hearing the concern is the person testing the vehicle.
No service writer, no relay, no telephone game where the noise you described turns into something else by the time it reaches whoever picks up the tools.
Findings come with evidence behind them — measurements, live data and results reproduced rather than assumed. A part does not get recommended because a fault code happened to name it. A code is a starting point, not a verdict.
What that buys you is a clearer answer and a smarter repair decision, including the times when the honest answer is that the repair is not the right move.
Test the system. Find the failure. Prove the fix.

6–10PM · By appointment
Limited availability
6–10 PM is not regular business hours. That is the entire point of it.
After Hours Select is a premium, limited-availability service window for clients who need help now — people whose time, schedule and peace of mind justify priority service. The vehicle gets attention in the evening instead of costing you a workday, a waiting room and a ride home.
It is not 24/7 service and it is not an emergency guarantee. Appointments are accepted based on availability, and availability in this window is genuinely limited. When it fits, it removes a whole day of disruption — whether the vehicle is sitting in a driveway in Rita Ranch, a jobsite in Vail, AZ, or a work parking lot across Tucson.
If you have been looking for an after-hours mechanic in Tucson, this is what that looks like: a scheduled evening appointment with the VW/Audi technician who will do the work himself.
Service requests can be sent anytime. Replies, questions and scheduling are handled during regular business hours.
A premium evening appointment window, not regular business hours. Requested in advance and accepted based on availability.
When downtime costs more than the service, After Hours Select makes sense.
Call or text Hutch directly to discuss your vehicle, location and service needs. If he does not answer, he is likely working on a vehicle or helping another client. Leave a voicemail or send a text, and he will respond as soon as he is available.
Mobile service available across Tucson, Vail, Rita Ranch, Corona de Tucson, Sahuarita, Oro Valley, and Marana.
Most people know me simply as Hutch.
European performance cars have been part of my world from the beginning.
That interest turned into a specialty in early Audi performance: 2.7T engine conversions, Stage 3 builds, engine rebuilding and development, 01E manual transmission conversions, fabrication, and restoration on B5, B6, C5, RS4, and RS6 platforms. It sits alongside the everyday work — advanced mobile diagnostics, pre-purchase inspections, and approved repair — rather than replacing it.
My foundation was built through automotive shop, metal fabrication, technical education, manufacturer factory training, and specialty certifications — then expanded through the skilled trades, motorcycles, collision repair, aviation, and modern automotive systems.
Education built the foundation.
The trades taught me to create.
Experience brought it all together.
My background includes electrical systems, drivability, network and module communication, programming and adaptations where supported, and heavy mechanical repair.
That experience spans German, Italian, luxury, domestic, and Asian vehicles. Volkswagen and Audi are the only manufacturers identified as factory training; no other factory-training claim is made.
Modern faults often cross electrical, software, network, and mechanical boundaries. The diagnostic approach accounts for those relationships.
Circuit behavior, power and ground, current draw, wiring, module communication, and system interaction.
Fuel, air, ignition, emissions, cooling, mechanical condition, operating data, and symptom reproduction.
Coding, programming, calibration, and adaptation support where the platform, procedure, tooling, and conditions are supported.
Premium service means technical care, disciplined testing, clear communication, honest limitations, and respect for the customer’s decision.
Vehicle details, symptoms, fault codes, photographs, and scheduling stay in one direct conversation with Hutch through the service-request form and follow-up messages.
Every request is still reviewed before an appointment is accepted. Honest limitations are part of professional service.
You reach the technician who will evaluate and perform the work — not a service writer.
If I don’t answer, I’m either working on a vehicle or helping another client. Please leave a voicemail or send me a text and I’ll get back to you as soon as I’m available.
