Scan & Stored Faults
- Full vehicle and module scan
- Check engine, ABS, airbag, transmission and other stored faults
- Emissions readiness monitors
An independent evaluation of the vehicle you are about to buy, performed where the vehicle is parked, by the technician who explains the findings to you directly. Scan data, mechanical condition and visible evidence — documented before money changes hands.
A KlutchAZ Pre-Purchase Inspection is a structured evaluation of a used vehicle’s current condition, carried out before the sale. KlutchAZ comes to the vehicle — a dealership lot, a seller’s driveway, or anywhere it can be accessed safely and legally — scans every module that will talk, inspects the mechanical and electrical systems, and road tests the vehicle when that is safe and permitted.
KlutchAZ has no interest in whether the sale happens. The inspection is not a sales tool, not a warranty and not a valuation. It is evidence about the car in front of you, reported the same way whether the answer is good news or bad.
Findings reflect what can be scanned, measured, tested and seen during the appointment. A pre-purchase inspection is a thorough picture of the vehicle’s condition on that day — it cannot predict every future failure or expose a fault the vehicle refuses to show while it is being inspected.
Depth varies by platform, access and what the vehicle allows during the appointment. The coverage below is the working scope.
A scan is only the starting point. Stored faults, readiness monitors and live values are read alongside the mechanical and visual inspection, because a cleared fault memory and a clean dash tell you very little on their own.
If the inspection turns up something that needs further investigation, additional diagnostic testing can be performed when it is appropriate for the vehicle, the concern and the setting.
Running values, freeze-frame data, fuel and air behavior, sensor correlation and module communication watched while the vehicle operates — not just the codes it stored earlier.
Voltage, voltage drop, current draw, resistance, power, ground and circuit integrity testing on the systems that raised a question.
Battery condition and capacity testing along with charging-system output, so a weak battery is not mistaken for an electrical fault or the other way around.
Pressure, temperature, leak, movement and condition checks selected to confirm or rule out a suspected mechanical cause.
Advanced testing is explained before it is performed. Nothing beyond the agreed inspection scope goes ahead without your approval, and no repair is authorized by requesting an inspection.
Inspections happen where the vehicle is — Tucson, Vail and Rita Ranch — and need a safe, legal place to work plus the seller’s or dealer’s permission for keys, a cold start and a road test. Scope and pricing are confirmed before the appointment is accepted.
Some checks depend on access. Lift-dependent evaluation, alignment measurement and major disassembly are not part of a mobile inspection, so underbody coverage is reported as what could actually be reached and seen. If the vehicle needs more than a mobile inspection can establish, that is said plainly rather than glossed over.
I’ll explain what looks good, what needs attention now, and what may cost you money later—giving you the information you need to buy it, negotiate the price, or walk away.
